Most Alter My Dress fitting and consultation services may be requested as an in-home or office appointment, including:

How it works

From your place to the perfect fit

1. Request your appointment

Complete the Alter My Dress appointment form and select **In-Home/Office** as your preferred location.

2. Tell us about your garment

Share your address, event date, garment type, requested services, and any fit or design concerns.

3. We review the request

Our team will confirm that your address is within the service area, review the anticipated scope of work, and contact you about availability.

4. We come to you

Meet with our alterations team at your home or office for a private fitting and personalized consultation.

5. We coordinate the work

Garments that require studio work will be transported and handled according to the plan confirmed during your appointment. Any follow-up fitting or return arrangements will be explained before work begins.

What to know before booking

‍

25-mile service area

In-home and office appointments are available at qualifying addresses located within our 25-mile service area. Your address will be reviewed before the appointment is confirmed.

$100 on-location appointment fee

This fee covers the time, routine travel, parking, and preparation required to bring the Alter My Dress fitting experience to your location.

$550 alteration minimum

On-location appointments require a minimum of $550 in alteration services. The $100 appointment fee is separate and does not count toward the alteration minimum.

Final alteration pricing is determined after the garment has been evaluated. Complex garments, specialty services, rush requests, and additional visits may carry separate charges, which will be discussed before work begins.

- Your intended bra, shapewear, or undergarments
- Veils, belts, jackets, or other relevant accessories
- Inspiration images for redesign or customization requests
- A clean, private area with enough room to stand, turn, and view the garment

Frequently asked questions

Are the alterations completed at my home or office?

The fitting and consultation take place at your location. Sewing, dyeing, reconstruction, and other technical work are generally completed in the Alter My Dress studio. Our team will explain garment transportation and follow-up arrangements during the appointment.

Is every Alter My Dress service available on location?

Most services can begin with an on-location fitting or consultation. Suitability depends on the garment, the requested work, and the tools or environment needed to evaluate it properly. We will review your request before confirming the appointment.

Is custom dyeing performed at my location?

No. We can evaluate the garment, discuss color and design goals, and begin the intake process at your location. Dye testing and dye services are completed in a controlled studio environment.

What does the $100 appointment fee cover?

The fee covers routine travel, parking, appointment preparation, and bringing the fitting experience to your home or office. It is separate from alteration charges and does not apply toward the $550 minimum.

How do I know whether my address is within the service area?

Submit your full service address through the appointment form. Our team will review it and confirm eligibility before finalizing the appointment.

How many fittings will I need?

The number of fittings depends on the garment and complexity of the work. Wedding dresses often require more than one fitting. Your fitting schedule and the location of any follow-up appointments will be discussed after the initial evaluation.

What is the cancellation policy?

Alter My Dress requires at least 48 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Contact our team as soon as possible if your plans change.
