#BrideRideRace2026

A wedding dress is often worn once.
But it doesn’t have to be finished.
Bride Ride Race is about transforming something meaningful into something new. Taking wedding dresses out of storage and turning them into movement, memory, and celebration.
Some dresses are altered.
Some are dyed.
Some are redesigned.
Some are worn exactly as they are.
The point isn’t perfection. It’s purpose.
This belief—reuse over waste, creativity over disposal—is at the heart of what Alter My Dress does every day.

Bride Ride Race is a city spectacle where women ride bicycles through a short Philadelphia course wearing old, repurposed, or creatively altered wedding dresses.
Organized by Alter My Dress, in benefit of the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator, Bride Ride Race celebrates movement, creativity, and the idea that a wedding dress doesn’t belong in a box forever.
This is not a serious cycling race. It’s a celebration in motion—full of personality, laughter, and flowing fabric.

Bride Ride Race is designed as an afternoon experience—not just a moment.
From noon until race time, the event space will be alive with music, dancing, introductions, sponsor moments, photo ops, and plenty of opportunities to take it all in.
At 4:00 PM, riders take to the course for a short, closed, safety-first ride that’s more about style and spirit than speed.
Stick around afterward for cheers, photos, prizes, and a proper celebration.

Bride Ride Race is open to women who want to be part of something fun, creative, and a little unforgettable.
You don’t need to be a cyclist. You don’t need to be a model. You just need a bike, a helmet, and a wedding dress that’s ready for another moment.
All riding levels are welcome. Participation is free.

Before the race, we will have pre-race safety check stations where gowns are inspected and secured to ensure fabric stays clear of pedals, chains, and wheels. Riders will be guided on simple, effective ways to bustle, tie, or adjust their dresses for safe riding.
We know gowns can get tangled is a possibility when the dress is not prepared properly for riding. The good news is that this is exactly what we do for a living.
We are also asking riders to move at a slow, controlled pace. This is not about speed. It is about style, photo moments, and whimsical fun.
Anyone who wants to join the celebration without riding is more than welcome to wear their gown as an attendee.
